I am a citizen of the united states and I want to go to college in the UK (lancaster university if it means anything). My question is what can I expect, and where should I look for financial aid / scholarships. I have know idea where to begin and I dont know british policies on the subject. Any help would be appeciated!

I'm 18 years old, and moved in with my father - the only "responsible" (if you would call it that) family I have left - last year. He lives in an apartment alone and is retired, so I have to pay him $100 a month for groceries. I am finishing my high school credits and was hoping to move out by September 2010, although he is pushing for sooner. He has made it abundently clear that soon after I move out, he is moving up north into a one bedroom apartment so neither me or my sister can move in with him, which erases any fallback plan if surviving on my own fails. (My dad had nothing to do with me or my sister until we were in our mid teens and were too busy for him, so our mother's biggest threat was "sending us to live with our father", hence why it's weird for him to have a daughter pop into his life and stick around for a while.. although he's succeeding fairly well at putting up with me). Anyway, when I moved out I was planning on heading to PEI (I live in Ontario now), as it's very rural and historical, a place I feel most comfortable. Taxes are expensive but cost of living is cheap. The only downside is that I don't know anyone there. So a friend (with a husband and kids) is moving to Saskatchewan next year and is trying to persuade me to come with, as cost of living is low out west as well, but there are "many more job oppurtunities". The thing is, while it's safer financially to head that way, I don't want to go. Although my personality has a "follow your heart and you'll find where you belong" mindset, I base decisions on reason and the reason side of me says head to SK, even though my heart knows I won't be happy there. So this is how I see things going if I move to SK (which seems like the only option at this time), since I can't afford to further my education past high school: I move out there, get a job I hate making a low (-but-higher-than-minimum) wage, and save for 10 years, move to PEI and open my business (pub or bed and breakfast). The negatives about this option is that I'll hate my job, have no life, and waste my young years working away... Which when I listen to my heart, is not what I want life to be about. And my other option, is working at a job I like, making a low wage and travelling to different destinations once a year, which is more me following my heart, but I'll never have financial security and probably won't ever leave SK. Can someone convince me there are reasons other than because I feel I belong in PEI, to move there? There shouldn't have to be any other reason, right? If I want to go, I should. But as much as my heart is telling my head that, I can't convince myself it's the logical thing to do. I think I need reassurance, that it's okay to move somewhere because you want to, and that it's okay to not be making a bunch of money a year because you're doing something you love... I've always wanted to be a writer, and am often told that I should be but my "skills" come and go with my mood... GAH.

As I said, I'm 32 weeks pregnant. Recently we've run into some financial problems and I know my honey is stressed out about getting laid off. He doesn't like to think about these things so he finds excuses to either be out of the house or when he's home he hides in the bedroom and watches television or gets on the computer and plays games. He'll still sit with me or cuddle with me late at night, but I feel like he's avoiding me. I've tried asking him about it, but he says nothing is wrong. Should I just leave it alone? I'm worried about him, but I'm also missing him and feeling neglected. Any advice? His last day was yesterday, so he's not sitting home in the middle of the day. It's at night or on the weekends that he's doing this.

What would you prefer to do? I have an ex gf who did this, she dumped me, and married some guy who has $$$, and when I brought it up to her about "are you happy"? she refused to answer, and skirted around the question, even when I asked her about it 3 times. So, it made me think: Do women get married to a guy they hardly know(in her case less than a year), for love or for financial security? do these types of relationships(financial security) work out usually, or are they pretty much doomed when the guy gets bored w/you?

I wasn't going to do anything about this, but it keeps bothering me. I was friends with this one girl who I thought at first was pretty cool. certain things happened and we had a following out ( I found out she was lying pretty much about everything. About other people, her financial situation, her family ETC) basically she was very manipulative. I realized that I was being used and was very upset and angry by it. I did something that I am not proud of ( I wrote a note on facebook about her. I never mention her name, but those who knew her and me knew it was about her. At the time we were living in a small town. Both international students) However mean the note was nothing I wrote was false. The problem is she is very manipulative and can make herself cry. She ended up making a bunch of people feel sorry for her and made me out as the villian and her the poor victim and that i was lying.I later learned she set up a sitituation where behind my back she was convinceing people I was some stuck up B****, so I pretty sure she knew what she was doing by lying to me, so when I did call her out it would be easier for her to have people take her side. I try to explain to the people who were mad at me and later claim they hated my guts and was a B****. I tried to explain the sitituation, but they were having none of that. I have them on facebook and I told them if they hated me as much as they say then delete me. They never have. I tried writing to them to see if they would write back and they don't. I won't see them face to face anytime soon, because at the time I was an international student and I am now back home. Anyway my question is, should I keep in contact with them? There are times when I think they are over it because if they weren't they would delete me ( or do you think they keep me because they want to know what I am doing?) I still think they're cool people.I don't what to throw something away because I am overreacting, but I am at the point where I am sick of explaining.

Hi, I have to write a 3 - 5 minute speech on Abortion. My contention is: Should abortions be legal in Victoria until 24 weeks? In Victoria (australia) you are currently allowed to have an abortion up until 24 weeks. my answer is: No it should not, at 24 weeks a baby can be born and survive, the fetus should be no more than 16 weeks except for special exceptions which you can get a grant from your doctor until 22 weeks (disablilty, physically unfit, cause of sexual abuse, financial issues).. i want to include facts for and against - if its not at all people will go to back alleys - women can easily have an abortion before 16 weeks (4 menstrual cycles @ 28 days.) can you please just put in dot points how to start and link points. just a few pointers please

Hi I am currently looking for a student loan because I will soon be attending a private college. The school does not offer Financial aid so if a person chooses to go there they have to either pay out of poket the full amount which is 18,000 or take out a long. The thing is my credit is poor score is like in the mid 500. Are there any options for me? Parents are out of the question I am orphaned and over 21

As first, I thought to become a Buddhist monk but due to some circumstances I can't. I have a good heart, and want to help out everyone but I'm a poor student in financial. I am a GED holders with the lowest score in English. I have a minimum score is 410 in English, because English isn't my mother's tongue. I am really like to study and become a doctor to help out patients. I like to check patients to see what wrong with them, then write them prescriptions. first and foremost, does anyone know if UCR is planning to open the med school that includes nursing? second: so i'm a senior in hs. already applied. heading to UCR this fall. academically i'm alright..lets just say i have a gpa of 4.37, ranking 24th of 786. however my SATs are only 1640, 610 chem, 620 in math. i have no idea if its worth pursuing a med degree in ucr or just go for nursing at riverside commty college. and my parents wont let me go to any other UC but riverside because of distance. yes, i'm sheltered. I just want a feedback on whether its worth pursuing med at riverside, since it's med program isnt as prestigious as LA or SD..orrrrr should i just go to commty college for nursing. Im also asking this because i dont want to waste money. i come from a family of 6..im the oldest of 4. although my parents make ~140, money is an issue because their financial output isnt exactly pointing in the greatest direction. so, is in ur guys' opinion how is the ucr med program? ang give me any other comments on my situation

here is my dilemmna-I have 5 payday advance loans due-(no lectures please) I cant pay any of them back, they are going to default. I dont care about that, there are no assets and I just got laid off. What is stressing me out is my q-I know only ONE is legally allowed at a time. Is there any way the collection agencys that will pick at my financial corpse find out I have 5 at one time? Can I go to jail for this? Will they try to arrest me for fraud?
