Open Question: Can someone explain where the prices are?

In reading this crap & tax bill, I come across something that bothers me. According to Sec. 114: Carbon Capture and Sequestration Demonstration and Early Development program subsection 6: Status of Corporation(That's right, this cap & trade begins a new corporation) which will not be considered an agency department or instrumentality of the United States, and no officer or director or employee of the corporation shall be considered to be an officer or employee of the United States Government, for the purposes of Title 5 or Title 31 of the United States Code, or for any purpose, and no funds of the corporation shall be treated as public money for purposes of chapter 33 and 31 of the United States Code or for any other purpose. Basically, none of this goes to pay off our debt, it's strictly not public money. But it gets better. Where does The Corporation(as it is so affectionately called) get it's money? Here.. Section (c) of Sec. 114 states the 'Functions and Administrations of the Corporation-": 1 In General: "... Under such program competitively awarded grants, contracts, and financial assistance shall be provided and entered into with eligible entities. Except as provided in paragraph 8, The Corporation shall use all funds derived from assessments under subsection d to issue grants and contracts to eligible entities. Subsection D reads (d) Assessments - 1 Amount - (A) In all calendar years following its establishment, the Corporation shall collect an assessment on distribution utilities for all fossil fuel-based electricity delivered directly to retail consumers. The assessments shall reflect relative carbon dioxide emission rates of different fossil fuel-based electricity, and initially shall be not less than the following amounts for coal, natural gas, and oil: There's no more on the numbers after that. And why is natural gas taxed? That's natural, not manmade. After checking facts, this statement stands out the move from factpage: Experts agree that the increased costs imposed by a cap-and-trade program would be passed down by companies to their consumers in the form of higher prices on energy products. But just how big of a hit would consumers take? They never expound on that.

Open Question: How has the law screwed you?

This is a very long post, but The main point of this is, please tell me about your bad experience with the justice system. I will soon start a website, devoted to the men and women who are sold out for a power trip, left out to dry, and just plain screwed. Please Let your story be heard. It has always been bad but this is the final straw here, as i am looking into putting up a table stand near the bike traiI, where i would play guitar, sell drinks and homemade jerkey, good times, with most(75%, I still gotta eat) of the profit going to a good honest charity(any ideas?). I may be almost tax exempt but i read multiple counts of children shut down or extorted of their lemonade money, fruit stand money, what have you, by the black hole we call the government. since when does a lemonade stand require a building permit, business license, health inspection, and financial records? One boy and his parents in the netherlands was put out over $1500.00 for his. is this really the point where we are at as a society? Six year olds break the law when they make a cheap, delicous drink, sitting on a milk crate, out in the heat, sweating bullets, all just to make a few dollars? lets not forget the fact that they are offering a product, that we as free Americans, decide to purchase. Who needs to dip their hands in the pockets of a SIX YEAR OLD girl? What next, fill out a w- for Grandma's Christmas card? That Malibu barbi is now 36% more expensive. Add to that the 7% sales tax. Sorry, honey, maybe after Easter. now what these kids are doing seems to be the basis for free market systems that this country was founded upon. how would our forefathers react to this, tax money wasted on a six year old guilty of quenching thirst? IRS agents, health inspectors, and the police have all been called in to put pressure on fukcing LEMONADE STANDS. Two goons from the IRS probably make more in a day than this girl makes(or spends for that matter) on lemonade in ten years. It happens all the time; on all levels, our rights as human beings, and wild animals(albeit neudered) are stepped on. At the same time, football players and movie stars kill people, and get a slap on the wrist.I dream of an America where people actually care about each other, to the point where they would rally in the streets, fight and sacrifice, even GIVE their LIFE for a complete stranger(non-famous) at the slightest scent of injustice. It is something we would all benefit from. There are thousands of cases, every year; judges paid, jurors paid, jurors threatened, false/ planted evidence, no evidence, framing at the highest level, the list goes on and on.The waste, the greed, the corruption, and pure garbage must be rid of this country. WE as the public need to put a fear into our "leaders", law enforcement, justice system. Like the kind of fear that keeps you up at night, cause you think you might not wake again. Let them know they are not untouchable, as they believe, and want you to believe. The newspapers should have an entire section dedicated to keeping the courts transparent, with details of all cases, written by a member of the real public, not some journalist getting bjs under the table by the same liars they are writing about. Put the judge's address in there too. Free things don't always stay that way. remember when water was free? WE need to do something quick before our country becomes a police state. Thank you very much. feel free to email me if you wanna talk about something interesting.....

Open Question: PLEASE ANSWER: NYU loans for psychology student?

I HAVE A VERY BIG DECISION ON MY HANDS I am 22 recently graduated from San Francisco state university with a 3.85 overall GPA and 1240 GRE score. I want to get a phd in psychology and be a professor at the university levl but for now I'm doing a Masters. I had plans to start my MA at sf state in fall but yesterday (coincidentally on the day of my grad party) got a letter from NYU with an offer of admission to the MA program there! Sounds like a no brainier except when you consider that NYU is giving me no financial aid is 30,000 a year compared to sf state which is 5,000 a year. with living expenses factored in I would have about 100 thousand in loans at the end of two years in comparison to 30 thousand in loans if I went to sf state. Is the prestigious name of NYU enough to compensate for the massive loans? Im hoping going to NYU will help me get into a better phd program down the road. But who knows... IM VERY CONFUSED! Please help THANKS =) link broken... gave u a thumbs down

Open Question: How can I convince my mom to let me adopt a dog from the ASPCA?

I'm sixteen and offered to pay for a small dog with my own money. My mom said she really wants a chihuahua numerous times, but still says "No, we have enough animals". I have one small dog and two almost outside cats', and I simply adore all three of them, but my mom is pretty much the real owner of them, and I really want to adopt my own dog by myself, and I know I can take care of it. We meet all the living and financial conditions to owning another animal. How can I convince her into letting me keep a small dog?

Open Question: By 2012, will everybody have to admit the truth, that the economic crisis is far deeper than anybody imagines?

source: http://www.lewrockwell.com/celente/celente9.1.1.html Empire America is on the verge of collapse. Its social, economic and political systems are failed and failing. The measures taken by successive governments to save the politically corrupt, morally bankrupt, physically decrepit giant from collapse have served to only hasten its demise. While the decline has been decades in the making, the acceleration of ruinous policies under the current Administration is leading the United States – and much of the world – to the point of no return. The "green shoots" sighted by Field Marshall Bernanke this past spring were a mirage. The 2010 economic "recovery" predicted by the same experts, authorities and financial boy scouts and cheerleaders who didn't see the economic crisis coming is pure delusion. By 2012, even those in denial and still clinging to hope will be forced to face the truth. It will be called "Obamageddon" in America. The rest of the world will call it "The Greatest Depression." KGS: I am equally critical of the Republicans, as are Gerald Celente (the author of this article) and LewRockwell.com (which has a slogan of "anti-war, anti-state, pro-market"). Needless to say, Republican irresponsibility does NOT excuse even greater Democrat irresponsibility.

Open Question: What free agents should the Suns get?

At 12 p.m. ET tonight, the free agent-market floodgates will burst open and the Suns front office plans on being among the teams who plan to have a raft as the waters spill forth. The reel they are planning to cast is the direction of Grant Hill. The Suns co-captain appeared in all 82 games this past season, averaged 13.2 points and 5.3 rebounds a game as a starter and shot over 50 percent from the floor for the fourth time in the last five seasons. Suns President of Basketball Operations and General Manager Steve Kerr made it perfectly clear since the conclusion of the season that signing Hill was the franchise’s first priority. “We’d like to re-sign him and we have our eye on a few other free agents as well, but obviously we’re a year away from being able to spend any money,” Kerr said. “He’s a huge part of our culture here I think he’s one of our leaders he had a great year last year and I think he’s got a couple good years left in him. We’d love to have him back.” Kerr is planning on meeting with Hill at his house in Orlando on Wednesday. Besides securing the services of the seven-time All-Star, the Suns will also be likely be angling towards signing a couple post players due to the departure of Shaquille O’Neal. Some big men that may be of interest to Phoenix are Rasheed Wallace, Joe Smith, Antonio McDyess and former Arizona product, Channing Frye. All of them are unrestricted free agents beginning July 1. High-priced free agents such as Kobe Bryant, Carlos Boozer, Jason Kidd, Hedo Turkoglu and Lamar Odom are expected to sign with either their own teams or with teams with extensive salary cap room such as Detroit, Atlanta and Portland. Due to economic conditions and high payrolls, it’s expected that teams aren’t going to spend as easily and readily as they’ve done in the past on free agents. But this type of situation could prove to be advantageous for Phoenix and Kerr is well-aware of that fact. “There are going to be some bargains and we’re usually a destination for players,” he said. “People want to play in Phoenix, they want to play with Steve Nash, they want to play up-tempo and we think we’ll have an opportunity at a few free agents that could really help us without breaking the bank. That will also allow us on our path towards flexibility next summer.” Financial flexibility next summer would allow Phoenix to be a major player in the most coveted free agent pool in recent memory. Besides LeBron James, that list of potential unrestricted free agents includes Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh, Paul Pierce, Ray Allen, Tyson Chandler, Manu Ginobili, Richard Jefferson, Joe Johnson, Tracy McGrady, Yao Ming, Dirk Nowitzki and Michael Redd. In the meantime, Kerr, Senior Vice President of Basketball Operations David Griffin and Suns Head Coach Alvin Gentry all will begin working the phones at 9 p.m. Phoenix time tonight. With the floodgates open and teams unwilling to pay, who knows what type of big fish the Suns might be able to catch?

Open Question: How do you buy a house with money won from Vegas?

My friend won money in Vegas. Let's say enough money to pay for a 3-4 bdrm house. She is planning on doing just that. So, she makes a little over $23,000 a year with her full-time job (she's a full-time student also) and now she is getting around $55,000 in annual payments every year for a certain amount of years. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to pay for a house in her situation? She can't buy off a house yet since she doesn't have enough. She does has enough for a reasonable down payment and then she has more than enough to pay the monthly payments and housing expenses. How would you talk with a Realtor without actually going into your business of winning money in Vegas? She wants to be very discreet in where her money came from but doesn't know the first thing about buying a house and how the process will go when they go over her financial status. I'm sure the $55,000 annual will have to come in somewhere since she doesn't make a lot from her job but does anyone have any suggestions on how to address the Realtor or Mortgage people?? You're help is greatly appreciated. Thank you Yes, the money is legit. She has the documents and everything. She has already received her annual payment for this year. (I was with her in Vegas when she won and has been helping her with her decisions.) Does anyone have any suggestions on what to say to the people who will do her financing?? Oh, about the discreet part.. it's because she finds it annoying how people react when they ask how she has the money. It's an endless list of questions.. the last time she talked with an accounting personnel, the lady asked all kinds of questions cause she was so astonished on a young person winning so much money. She asked where she won it and how much and yadda yadda,.. this is the reason for being so "hush hush" about it. It really is annoying when people ask so many questions, to her anyway. Thanks for your answers! I figured she should get pre-qualified by the bank first to make her time with the Realtor smoother/faster and also so she won't have to discuss how she has the money. (Maybe)
