Open Question: Does this lawyer have the right to hold my taxes after filling out a W9 form?
I was told to fill out a W9 form for a settlement that I received.
When the check arrived I received the lump sum of money with the taxes already taken out. The check just had the lump sum, on another piece of paper was the breakdown of taxes. I really don’t trust this lawyer and I think he’s doing something wrong.
Does he have the right to hold my taxes after having me fill out a W9 form?
