Open Question: Is child support always enough?
My parents divorced 10 years ago because my dad cheated on my mom. Then my dad married this new lady and we had to leave the house. I recently asked my father for help with my college education. I am an honor student w/ a 4.0 GPA.
His response was that I was supposed to save some of the child support money for my education, but most of the money went into our new house, the rest went into neccesities (food, clothes, etc.) It is all gone.
He said he already gave way too much. No offense, but he is sort of rich (which is what I was) My mother and I are low income (not that there's anything wrong w/ that, I accept it now).
I am also his and her only child.
Is he right in saying that? I need a neutral opinion.
He also said that if the money went to the new house, then I should sell the house to get an education or earn it myself through work.
I am not asking him to give me a free ride thru college, all I want is some help. Grants & scholarships are not enough.
