Open Question: is this common in Asian cultures or what?
I know this is going to sound prejudice but when ever I call the chinese takeout from no matter where they pick up the phone and say hello I tell them what I want and they don't say is that it or anything else they just hang up the phone and don't say goodbye nothing. When I go pick it up they just stand there for about 30 seconds looking at me and then finally come up and don't say anything so I have to tell why I'm there to pick up food. So I get my money out then they just look at me and walk away and don't tell me how much it is about a minute later they come back and set the food on the counter I think it's mine but they don't tell me so I ask them and they say no. I wait and then they set another takeout on the counter so they just stare so I come up again and ask they say yes. They still don't tell me how much it is they just stare,so I give them money they give me my food and don't say thank you or nothing. I know they can speak english too. I just wondering if this is common
in asaian cultures because It happends almost every chinese takeout place. I've been to some that were really nice and actually communicated with me.
