Financial talk

My husband and i want to buy a trailer, it is 16,500. There is a problem. I am a stay at home mother to our 2 children and he has held a steady job being the manager of our local pet store for 4 years now. He makes pretty good money, and we can definetly afford the payments for a 17,000 loan. Problem being, he is "off the books". That looks to lenders like he has been unemployed for years. What would our options be in New York State for a loan?? Thank you Very much... Please no criticism! Thanks!
