Financial talk

Ok, My friend and his mom were in his moms bosses house while he is on vacation. (his mom and her boss are friends) He is VERY rich. My friends mom left and he was alone in the house, and he went into his bedroom and looked through his drawers and found an envelope with $2700 cash. He told me that he hesitated, and then took it. My friend says that his moms boss has security cameras inside of his house, including in his bedroom. Now that he left his moms bosses house (and its locked), what is he supposed to do? He said that the surveillance cameras keep up to 7 days of tape, and then it starts over. So he has until that much time and hopefully the guy will not come back and notice the money is missing in his drawer and check the recordings. My friend told me that he didn't think about the cameras until afterwards, and he also said it was in a dark room so it may not have caught him stealing it. What would u do in this situation? Of course I will expect responses such as 'spend it!!'
