Open Question: Taxpayers, is $845 billion in additional taxes okay with you?
Is this the kind of "change" Barack Obama is asking from us?
He has sponsored a bill called the "Global Poverty Act" (S.2433) which calls for a phenomenal 12-year total of $845 billion in taxes to be paid by American taxpayers to the U.N. over and above what the U.S. already pays.
And the only way to raise that kind of money is through a global tax, preferably on carbon-emitting fossil fuels. Feel like paying more for gasoline than you already do?
