Open Question: What do you need to do to be a PE Teacher?
My son-in-law has his own business as a painter (houses etc) making very good money. However he is so sick of it that he wants to change careers. He has had dreams of training to be a personal trainer (in gyms etc) or opening up his own gym but my daughter & I've been concerned about the potential drop in income and the instability we believe is in the health/fitness area (so many gyms seem to come and go!). Now he wants to be a PE teacher. I tried to tell him that it is a 3-4 yr full-time uni course which includes a graduate degree in education, but he seems to think he can do it at Tafe. My research has so far shown that this isn't so.
Can anyone tell me if there is another way to become a PE teacher in Australia without going to uni?
