Open Question: What legal rights do I have reguarding marital assets? Are there any websites (free) to look up this info?
I am going thru a divorce after 16 years of mental and physical abuse. The house we built and owned. The land it sits on is in his brothers name. my lawer is saying I may not get anything as far as half of the cost of the house because land isnt in our name. And the judge wont do anything if he feels it is unreasonable for my soon to be ex. It is the state of Oklahoma and the ex is making it out like it is a hardship on him to have to buy out my half. Do I have any legal rights at all?! I just know he is gonna get by with screwing me and the kids over again. Please please help me. I cant even make ends meet and he is sitting pretty. My lawer is legal aid and never done a divorce case i have no money to get another. I hope I can find something to help and have my lawer bring it up in court. Thank you all
