Open Question: When were google’s sattelite pictures taken?

I was watching imposible islands on NatGeo and I looked on google maps, and I thought that they looked underdeveloped. (those stupid ones that Dubai is spending our gas money on) if you could provide links, that would be much obliged!! : )
