Open Question: Would you trust/use condoms that were bought in a “3rd world” country?

My boyfriend's friend went abroad recently, to a third world country. As a joke, he brought my bf a present: a HUGE box of condoms, that has approx 500 condoms in it. They're not brand-name condoms, but made locally in that country. They look ok/intact, but I'm wondering if they would be safe to use. It would save a ton of money, rather than having to buy Durex/Trojans here. I just want to be safe, though. Would you use them? Ok, I just re-read the packaging and it turns out they're actually made in China, they say they're "electronically tested", and expire in 2011. Made by Dalian Latex Co.
