Financial talk

I appied for an apartment today for my son and I under section 42. I had to feel out a paper that said they were going to verify my checking account which is currently quite a bit negative due to some financial issues (about $400.00) Will they see this and deny me or are they just verifying that I have a checking account? Also my credit is pretty bad...low 500's. How strict is management normally with the whole application process? Oh yeah, and I left them a $200 check to hold the appt. But they will not cash it till I move in, by then the money will be in my account. I would appreciate any help! Thanks! princess fergie: On the form they gave me to sign there was a bunch of stuff for the bank to fill out like average amount of money in account, interest rate etc....is that illegal?
