Open Question: Employer responsibility?
I recently moved to a new state and began looking for a new job. I found a company and after interviewing I was told I had the job and it was understood that I would be working a day shift. I was told the training class would be around 2 weeks from then and that was ok with me. During this time I signed a 12 month lease on an apartment and purchased some things I would need. well 2 weeks turned into 2 months, and after finally reaching some1 who gave me correct information (which I had to do my own investigating to find out) they had gotten rid of the day shifts. So they told me I would be forced to work nights and train until 1:00 in the morning. That was impossible for me. So now I am forced to look for a new job which hasn't been easy and I am running out of money resources and I have bills to pay. Is it silly for me to think that this company should hold some responsibility over my financial situation? I'm pretty sure there is nothing I can do, but I feel totally screwed.
