Open Question: Estate question- if someone lists items (cars, homes, etc) in their will but the items are sold before death?
by the executrix who also had a power of attorney granting her legal right to sell the items- does the executrix have any legal obligation to those listed in the will who now have nothing? My mother just died-after a long and expensive illness, several strokes and heart attacks. My brothers are now threatening to hold up her burial because they are unhappy with her will or their lack of inheritance. She died yesterday and all day I have gotten angry phone, threats, accusations and now demands I produce my power of attorney, health proxy and a "legitimate" will. They are making such a stink-I think they could very well hold up the burial. What's the possibility?Also if someone were to be left the house but the house being sold-would that money rightfully go to the person who was left the house or become now part of other estate monies?
