Open Question: Why does HDMI cable vary so much in price?
I have learned that HDMI cable, which stands for High Definition Multimedia Interface is often used for HDTV's. This is recommended for best picture and sound quality. It can be used for other technology as well. My question is, why is there such a difference in price for the HDMI cable. You can get very good HDMI cable for about $15-$20, which provides excellent output. But some places I have seen charge $100-$200 for an HDMI cable! What is the difference in the quality of the cable to justify this price? Is the $100 device intended for a different medium other than an HDTV where the $20 model would be fine. Why would you need to spend so much more money on an HDMI cable? Jeff
